One word to describe the Mount: Opportunistic

Isabelle Frank ’20 has been part of the Mount community since a young age – as a child, she attended Bishop Dunn Memorial School, the on-campus K-8 school at the Mount.

“I grew up doing science labs in Aquinas,” she explains. “My 8th grade dance was in Hudson Hall. I performed in school plays on the Aquinas stage.”

Having that bond to the school so early on is special, and a bit strange, she admits. While all of her college friends are experiencing the school for the first time, she already has so many memories made on this campus. Continue Reading

One could say that Dr. Paul Schwartz is dedicated to the Mount and its students – he’s been a professor at the college since 1977!

He is much beloved by the students, and the feeling is mutual: The students are his favorite thing about working at the college, he explains. He loves “watching the future take shape and develop in them” and is passionate about teaching them how to think. Continue Reading

One word to describe the Mount: Caring

For Chris McGorty, Class of 2019, it was his high school teachers that inspired him to forge his own path in education.

“They made learning fun and got me thinking that I could do that too,” he noted.

His especial focus in his studies is “history in the making,” with a passion on educating his students on events of recent years, such as 9/11, that are fast becoming part of America’s history. Continue Reading
