Alumni Reflections: Anthony Krueger

This week marks exactly six months since the Class of 2014 walked across the stage and became the newest members of the Mount Saint Mary College alumni family. Those of us who knew the amazing Class of 2014 are definitely feeling their absence this year, so we decided to reach out to some of our recent alumni for updates. In honor of their six-month anniversary, Knight Life will be posting updates from a few students each day this week, highlighting their achievements and progress since graduation.

What have you been doing since you graduated in May?

Since graduating from the Mount, I have held a few different jobs. Over the summer, I worked as a waiter at a family-owned Marina down in Maryland. Currently, I am back at the Mount working to obtain my master’s in Business Administration. While in school, I work part-time as the Graduate Assistant for Campus Ministry as well as in Kaplan as a lifeguard on campus. Continue Reading

What have you been doing since you graduated in May?

Since graduating, I’ve embarked on the journey of a lifetime. In August, I began a fully funded doctoral program in English at St. John’s University  while working as a Graduate Assistant for the Office of Gift Planning at St. John’s. I’ve been blessed with the best of both worlds so to speak: I am working at a job that I love, while preparing for the career that I have only dreamed of. I am currently preparing for two conferences and a personal   research project over the summer, and tutor in my spare time. Continue Reading

Of all the work experience that I have gained at the Mount, one of the most unique and personal adventures has been my work with the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program here at MSMC.

It all started when my RA at the time, Stephanie Weaver, introduced me to the program and encouraged me to apply. After looking at the list of available projects for the summer of 2013, I kept coming back to the project proposed by Dr. Stephanie Pietros involving lyrical ballads and poetry by Anne Bradstreet.

Marketing at the Mount

Jade Hanley

Interning this past semester has taught me more than I ever thought I could learn, not only about my field, but about myself as well. I was lucky enough to have an internship in the Marketing Office at the College. During my time there, I experienced first-hand every aspect of marketing, including photography and videography, advertising, web content management, social media management, and so much more.

As someone graduating in the very near future, the idea of finding a job keeps me up at night. I was lucky to get an amazing education, but soon I will have an amazing amount of education loans. Fortunately, the Mount’s Career Center teaches you how to fly before being kicked out of your comfy nest.
